State legislators from across the aisle shared with small business owners what they can expect as the state government shifts from blue to red this January at a breakfast with the Midlothian Business Alliance last week.
State Sen. Ghazala Hashmi (D-10), Del. Dawn Adams (D-68) and Del. Roxann Robinson (R-27) led a panel discussion outlining upcoming legislative priorities to a group of roughly three dozen attendees at the Fairfield Inn & Suites in Midlothian. Del. Lee Ware (R-65) was also scheduled to attend, but cancelled that morning due to an unforeseen circumstance. The event was sponsored by Sina Hospitality, which was represented in the audience by hotel owner and local businessman Ravi Patel.
“It’s refreshing and encouraging to see representatives from both parties disagree in a respectful manner, while continuing to work together to produce what they all believe is the best legislation for the Commonwealth of Virginia,” said Midlothian Business Alliance President Frank Petroski. “And I’m grateful that the Midlothian Business Alliance gives us the opportunity to be able to listen to them directly.”
